Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using OldPhotosLab, you agree to these Terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

OldPhotosLab provides AI-assisted tools that repair, restore, sharpen and colorize photographs. Results are probabilistic. A restored or colorized image is an interpretation of the source, not a guaranteed reconstruction, and it may contain errors in faces, clothing, uniforms, signage or background.

We may change models, output options, credit prices or features as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced on the site.

3. Accounts

• You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
• You are responsible for your login credentials and for activity under your account.
• Do not create multiple accounts to farm welcome credits, automate signups or circumvent limits.
• We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or abuses the service.

4. Credits, subscriptions and welcome credits

• Generations consume credits: 1K costs 10, 2K costs 20 and 4K costs 30, and the exact cost is shown before you generate.
• Failed generations are refunded to your balance automatically.
• New accounts receive 10 welcome credits once. They are not cash, cannot be transferred, and expire 365 days after signup. There is no recurring free allowance.
• Paid subscriptions renew until cancelled. Credit packs are one-time purchases. Validity periods are shown on the pricing page.
• Except where required by consumer law, completed generations and consumed credits are non-refundable.

5. Your content

• You keep ownership of the photos you upload. You confirm that you have the right to upload them and to request edits, including any permission needed from people shown in the photo.
• You grant us a limited licence to store, process and transmit the photo to the AI providers needed to deliver the result.
• You own the output we generate for you, subject to these Terms and applicable law. Paid plans include commercial use; welcome credits are for personal use unless stated otherwise.
• Do not upload images you do not have the right to use, or images that violate the rules below.

6. Acceptable use and AI content standards

These rules apply to every AI feature on OldPhotosLab — photo restoration, repair, unblur and colorization — and to every image or text prompt you submit.

6.1 Prohibited content

You must not create, upload, request or distribute:

• Sexual or pornographic content (NSFW). No nudity, explicit sexual acts, sexualized poses or other adult content. Restoration and colorization must not be used to sexualize a person or to create intimate imagery.
• Violent or gory content. No graphic injury, mutilation, death, torture, animal cruelty, or content that glorifies, threatens or instructs on violence.
• Hate speech, harassment and discrimination. No content that attacks, threatens, defames, harasses or discriminates against a person or group based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or another protected characteristic.
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and child-unsafe content. No content that sexualizes, exploits, endangers or abuses a minor. We report apparent CSAM to the relevant authorities and cooperate with law enforcement.
• Deepfakes, impersonation and non-consensual intimate imagery. No realistic deepfakes, impersonation of a real person without their consent, non-consensual intimate imagery, identity documents, fraud or false endorsements.
• Copyright, trademark or other rights violations. No content that you do not have the right to use, edit or publish, including protected photos, artwork, logos or trademarks.

We also prohibit malware, attempts to bypass safety filters or rate limits, automated bulk abuse, and using output to deceive people or evade these rules.

6.2 Enforcement

When we confirm or reasonably suspect a violation, we may take one or more of the following measures, in proportion to the severity of the violation:

• remove or block the content and any related result;
• restrict generation, upload or download features;
• suspend or terminate the account;
• forfeit unused credits and cancel subscriptions where permitted by law; and
• report serious violations, including CSAM or credible threats of violence, to the appropriate authorities.

Repeat or serious violations may lead to permanent termination. We may preserve relevant records for investigation and for responding to lawful requests.

6.3 Reporting content

You can report prohibited content or abusive behaviour:

• by email to support@oldphotoslab.com with the subject "Content report"; or
• through the Support button available on every page.

Please include the account or email involved, a link or screenshot where possible, and why you believe the content violates these rules. Do not attach or forward apparent CSAM; describe the content and where it appears so we can act.

We acknowledge reports within 5 business days, review them, remove content that we confirm violates these rules, and inform the reporter of the outcome where appropriate. If your account was restricted and you disagree, you can appeal to the same address.

6.4 Content moderation

We combine automated safety checks and content filters from the AI providers that process generations, account-level rate limits and abuse monitoring, and manual review of reports by our support and trust & safety team.

We do not pre-screen every upload or generation, but reported content and accounts are reviewed against these standards. We may request more information, remove content, restrict features, or suspend an account while we investigate. Moderation decisions can be appealed through the reporting channel above. We keep records of reports and actions taken.

7. AI output limits

• We do not add people who were not in the original photograph, and we do not offer forensic or archival certification.
• Do not present a restored file as an unedited original. Keep the source scan.
• Check a result before printing, publishing or using it in a legal, medical, financial or identity context.

8. Availability and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profit arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or risk to the service or other users.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. The "last updated" date shows the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
